Planners are an amazing organizational tool, but finding the right one for you can seem like an overwhelming task in it’s own right.

If you’re lost in a sea of options, sometimes it’s best to start from the beginning. Narrow down your focus (budget, fitness, habits?) and find a journal that fits that particular need.

I like goal setting journals because of their versatility. Most areas in our life that we want to track can be broken down into short term and long term goals, so these journals are perfect for anyone who can’t pick just one focus.

Best Planners for Keeping Track of Your Goals

Erin Condren PetitPlanner Goal Setting Journal

This one is my favorite one because it is affordable and solely dedicated to goals.

There are a few different page spreads that are all intended to help you track a goal at any stage.

There’s a check-in, action plan, action steps, and review/looking forward spread. I especially like the review page, since you need to reflect on what works and doesn’t work if you want to move forward effectively.

Compared to the other options on this list, this soft cover journal is smaller both in page amount and physical size, and it’s also the least expensive.

It’s great for if you want something simple, but that will keep you focused.

PowerSheets Six-Month Intentional Goal Planner

My second favorite are these “PowerSheets” from Lara Casey of Cultivate What Matters.  These are more like a system rather than a planner, and that’s what makes them phenomenal.

Lara focuses on the “why” behind the “what” and wants to make sure you have everything you need to be intentional about your goals while discovering how to live with purpose.

These are only my second favorite because of the price, I don’t know about you, but it’s hard for me to justify spending over $40 on a notebook.

However, it’s definitely not your average notebook.

PowerSheets help you create an action plan for your goals and encourage accountability to keep you on track.

Dailygreatness Original 90 Day Planner

I was so happy when I first discovered the Dailygreatness line of planners and journals because they are unlike anything I’ve ever seen.  The print quality and content of their products is outstanding.

Honestly at the end of the day what’s most important is a system that works best for you.  While this one definitely has all the bells and whistles, it may not work for everyone. For some people, a more straightforward, casual option may be more effective.

However, if you’re looking for a more comprehensive planner, this is obviously a great option and will keep you on track if you are diligent in using it.

Panda Planner Pro

Lastly is the Panda Planner, available on their website and  I have the original Panda Planner and I found it increased my productivity and made me more focused.  It’s very intuitive if you’re new to planners.

It’s more of a daily planner than a goal planner, but it is goal/project oriented instead of just a place for your to-do list and appointments.

It also incorporates gratitude and habit tracking which are helpful if you want to practice mindfulness.

If you are more familiar with a standard daily or weekly planner, this is a great choice.

Best Goal Setting Planners

Any of the three planners from the list will help you set your goals and track your progress. Really, it’s just a matter of choosing the right one for your needs.

For a simple and affordable option, the Erin Condren one is best.  For detailed tracking, the PowerSheets planner from Cultivate What Matters is unmatched.  Finally, for a long-term goal or project, the Panda Planner Pro encourages consistency and diligence.
